Grade 3
A work that begins in a light 7/8, depicting travels along a quiet road in New England. As we approach a beautiful covered bridge, the music slows and presents similar melodic material in a reverent, slow 4/4. A companion piece to Aaron Copland's "Down a Country Lane."
Grade 3
Originally written for SATB Choir, this lush setting combines an original pastoral melody with the Irish hymn tune ST. COLUMBA. The resulting work is a moving lyrical tribute that includes a number of short solos for flute and clarinet, and incorporates ensemble singing on “oo” at the end of the work.
Grade 3/4
Available as a collection of three arrangements, or individually: “If Ye Love Me,” “Third Mode Melody,” and “Variations on the Tallis Canon.” Scored for 4/5-part flexible instrumentation that can be adapted for nearly any combination of wind, string, and percussion instruments.
Grade 3
River Town Jubilee was commissioned in 2015 by the Dardanelle High School Wind Ensemble in Dardanelle, Arkansas. Dardanelle sits on the shore of the Arkansas River, and like many river towns, the waterway was a huge part of the town’s life and development during the 19th century.
