Each arrangement is provided in 2 keys so you can experiment with your students and discuss ways that different keys impact the sound of the music.

Each arrangement includes teaching ideas for each piece — ways to give students input and choices, discussion topics, tips for experimenting with each piece, and more.

The arrangements are simple to put together, but musically rich and accessible to a wide range of levels (grade 3/4). These arrangements will work for band and orchestra instrumentations, and a mixture of both.

Music is available as a PDF download with a license to print as many copies as needed for your individual ensembles.

Note on Percussion:

Third Mode Melody contains optional percussion parts for timpani, chimes, and bass drum. Variations on the Tallis Canon contains optional percussion parts for timpani, chimes, suspended cymbal, and bass drum. If Ye Love me does not contain optional percussion parts, although mallet instruments can be used on the SATB parts.

O Come, O Come, Emmanuel (Flexible)

Grade 4

Inspired by the advent chant melody, this new arrangement begins with a contemplative verse and slowly builds to a glorious climax. Scored for 8-part flexible instrumentation plus optional piano and percussion.

Hypernova Rising (Multi-level Flex, Grade 0.5 and/or Grade 1)

Grade 0.5 / Grade 1

A short piece for beginning band (4-part flex instrumentation), that includes grade 0.5 parts and grade 1 parts.

The Lost City of Tryon (Grade 0.5 Flex)

A one-minute piece for beginning band or strings (4-part flex instrumentation), incorporating foot stomps and found percussion to evoke a lost city from the 1800s.
